Wusthof are so proud of the quality of their knives that they offer a lifetime guarantee. In the unlikely event that one of their products does not live up to its reputation, it will be repaired or replaced. This is yet another sign that Wusthof knives are some of the best in the world.
History
Wusthof is a family owned company, based in Solingen, Germany. The earliest known reference to a Wusthof knife dates back to 1814. The company logo is a trident, and was registered with the Berlin patent office in 1895. This logo appears on every one of its quality knives. Today it has one of the largest ranges of knives in the world, with over 120 for a discerning knife owner to choose from. Every blade has the Wusthof name, the Trident logo and the City of Solingen engraved on them.
The Classic Range
This range of Wusthof knives includes triple riveted traditional-style black handles. These handles are very smooth and durable. This makes them extremely comfortable to use. The natural handle of the one-piece blade is visible through the handle.
The White Classic Range
These are of the same high quality and design to the traditional classic range, but with white handles for a unique look.
The Culinar Range
These Wusthof knives are characterized by their ergonomic stainless steel handles. The flawless design gives the impression that the handle is part of the blade itself.
The Gourmet Range
These have black handles made from an ABS polymer. This makes them extremely durable and resistant to high heat or impact. The handles are triple riveted and completely encase the natural handle of the blade.
Le Cordon Bleu Range
These knives were designed in conjunction with the world famous Cordon Bleu School of Cookery that began in Paris. The black handles are triple riveted and have a unique bolster design that offers the most ergonomic, balanced, flexible and accurate knives available. The natural handle of the knife is visible throughout the handle.
The Grand Prix Range
These have an extremely durable and slip resistant black handle that is pebble-grained. They have a modern look that compliments their traditional construction. Unlike some of the other models, the handles are bonded, not riveted.
The Emirilware Range
This range was designed in conjunction with the American TV Chef, Emiril Legasse. Unlike the other knives in the Wusthof family, these are actually stamped from a single sheet of stainless steel. They are not honed. This does not mean that they are any less durable than the other ranges, but does mean that they are extremely good value for money.
