Regarding Oktoberfest food - a traditional German Oktoberfest feast is all about going overboard with quantity and taste. September and October means crisp autumn weather in Munich, Germany. For the whole year, it commands the best climate for everyone, local Bavarians as well as tourists, to gather around a street-long table, sharing a feast of local dishes.

As the name implies, the black forest cake actually originated in the Black Forest region of Germany during the late 16th century. The cake also best represents the German's unwavering love for cream and chocolate.

The Beer

As much as menu lists and preparations are important, your selection of beer must be your top priority. German Oktoberfest is all about the beer, so you need to have the nicest German beer you can get.
