Read here why you should consider a Junghans Watch especially an Atomic Watch if your husband is like mine - wishing to have the most things in life under cotrol.
1 second in 1 million years
Especially men keep track of time as well as they can. This can be a frustrating endeavor because neither our mobile phones, computers or PDA's keep time very precisely. The CPU-lag, we all know this.
Well, I'm happy to share here a treat with you: an atomic watch from Junghans I bought for my husband.
No it doesn't take pictures, play MP3's or make phone calls. An atomic watch has one main mission: It keeps time very accurately - and that very successful all the time: One second in One million years!
Most impressive Junghans watches are the atomic
Junghans in Germany have been manufacturing watches since 1861. Some watches are solar powered or open electronically front doors. But the most fascinating watches in my opinion are their atomic models.
Junghans Atomic watches function
All clocks/watches get a radiobased signal from an atomic (Caesium). This is the most accurate clock in the world, working precisely to one second in one million years. The encoded signal is transmitted (long wave radio form). "This sound" is made by a a transmitter in Colorado (Fort Collins WWVB transmitter) and on a frequency of 60 kHz it is transmitted.
The atomic watches have an internal program and antenna. By this the radio signal can be received and encoded. To show the accurate time it has to be decoded again. By nightly updates (automatic) with the radio signal they maintain total accuracy .
a must for someone travelling to different time zones
What impresses me is that the Junghans watch of my husband keeps extremely precise time all the time. It resets itself automatically, here in South Germany, at 11:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. During the rest of the 24 hours it maintains time with the help of a quartz crystal. When he travels to another time zone, all he has to do is to set the small digital display at the bottom of the clock dial to that zone and the watch will reset automatically to the exact time. Neat, huh!
Great Design and material
And that's not all! On top these watches look fabulous as well. The case material is made from carbon fibers.
