Homemade Gift Basket

How to Create Your Own One!

A homemade Gift basket is very popular these days, but it can also be costly. However, with a little planning and creativity, you can create your own personalized german gift baskets within your budget.

Different types for different people

There are many different types of German gift baskets. Of course you should create yours according to what the person receiving would like.

Black Forest Gift Basket

For example, if you are giving it as a gift to a ham lover, then a basket including Black Forest Ham, and some "Kirschwasser" to wash it all down would be a great idea.

German Chocolate Gift Basket

For chocolate lovers, a collection of german chocolates, chocolate candy or german chocolate pudding from Dr. Oetker in a homemade gift basket would make a great gift.

German Wine Gift baskets

A wine gift basket is a nice gift for german wine lovers for any occasion. It's a great gift for men...even your boss. Think about Father's Day, birthdays, and anniversaries.

Soccer Gifts Basket Ideas

Any fan would love to get a basket full of soccer or (german fußball) gifts and snack food. Especially now - as next year there will be the german soccer world cup 2006 in germany.

Select a unusual container, such as a sports teams trash can, popcorn container, a basin, or a pail/bucket that can double as a cooler.

Fill your container with beverages and some of these gift suggestions:

-trading cards
-team cap/hat
-team key chain
-remote control
-coffee mug with team logo
-insulated drink mug with team logo
-beer glass or stein with team logo
-subscription or issue of sports magazine
-energy bars, sports drinks
-pretzels
-microwave popcorn
-pork rinds
-peanuts in the shell
-beef jerky, salami
-cheese, crackers
-spicy mustard
-german cookies, candy

For a less expensive gift use a large coffee or beer mug. Place some shredded tissue paper or store-bought shred in the bottom to hold the items in place. Fill the mug with theme gifts...a key chain, a beer can opener, beef jerky, etc.
