German ToTo Suckers

by Like Itis
(Grapevine, Tx)

As a Military Brat living in Germany I fell in love with the candy that we call Toto Suckers - it was a hard candy on a plastic stick in a variety of flavors. We couldn't wait for the end of our school day so that we stop by the local curbside vendor and grab a couple of the suckers before we headed home. Later in life I returned to Germany as a Military Officer and treated my children to those wonderful treats that my friends and myself came to love. I often wonder whatever happen to those treats and are they even available now so that I could introduce my Grandchildren to them. If anyone knows how or where I can some of them please drop me a note at like.itis@hotmail.com. Thank you.

I remember them too!
by: Dorris

I remember them to and couldn't wait for the "ToTo" man to come around his in his van to sell the candies; he also sold fruits and vegetables, but it was the toto suckers, honey shells, large gummi pacifiers, to name a few of the candies that he sold that I remember the most from those yeares (mid-1960s). I'm glad I'm not the only one who wishes we could find them here in the US!
