Rippberger

Rippberger

I don't know much about my last name but that it is german a my family going back to the 1600's were from
Eppelheim-Heidelberg, Baden-Wuerttemberg. I believe it was spelled Ripperger at this time. I've also been told that the name comes from Ritter Von Rippberger (Knight of Rippberger 1350)

Hi Damian,
this is what I've found in addition:
Rippberger was an habitational name for someone from Ripperg near Walldürn (Odenwald) earlier recorded as Ryperg and Rietberg.

There are 62 telephone records existent with this surname, mostly living as you already mentionned in the Neckar-Odenwald region near Heidelberg.

All the best,
Gabriela

I'm one of the Rippberger clan descended from one of the 8 brothers that immegrated to the US in 1833. I have lots of information and possibly your relation Adam is one I have a picture of. The "b" was dropped out of my family name by my grandfather or his father. Here is a link to help you in your quest.

Surname Rippberger
by: Misty Pommerening

Hi I'm looking for anyone that can help me with my family tree. My great grandfather is Frank W. Pommerening and he married Margaret Catherine Rippberger in 11-30-1920. They had one son that I know of and that is my grand father Wilbur Pommerening. Margaret's father is Adam Rippberger and mother is Ursula Stoner. Adam was born 12-16-1812 in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. That is as far is I can get on her fathers side and I can't find anything on the Pommerening side. But I do know that Frank and Margaret are my great grandparents. If anyone can help please e-mail me at mls-p@hotmail.com. Thanks
