A Christmas Surprise!
by J. Marie
(Va.)
My father was stationed in Germany during the early 60's. It was Christmas and I had limited funds to spend on gifts for my family. I visited the local trinkhalle and saw the most beautiful box of chocolates. I thought that my younger sister would enjoy them...so I snapped them up.
On Christmas morning, I anxiously awaited the unwrapping of my special gift. She was so excited as she opened the box. She selected her first piece...took a bite and crimped her lips in frustration. I said, "what's wrong"? My Dad took a piece and said, "yum". The beautiful chocolates were filled with liquors. OOPS!!!
Dear J. Marie,
thank you for this beautiful story about the German chocolate surprise.
All the best,
Gabriela
